Air streams, Casa Santo Domingo

Located just outside the colonial city of Antigua , Guatemala, this incredible grouping of converted airstreams and shipping containers serves as rooms for the exclusive Casa Santo Domingo Hotel.   The units were completely disassembled and reconstructed using new materials with great attention to detail.  The trailers feature spectacular views of the valley and wooden decks with Jacuzzis.  

Hotel Kawilal, Santa Teresita

Kawilal Hotel is an exclusive resort connected to the volcanic hot springs of Santa Teresita on Lake Amatitlan.   This is the first Gold Leed certified project in Central America.   The landscape complements the buildings and uses water efficient plants as well as local materials.   The buildings were carefully located within a forest to preserve the existing jacaranda and amate trees.  Project Architect - Juan Carlos Valenzuela  Pool- Watermania

Orotava, Antigua Guatemala

Orotava is an exclusive residential and hotel complex located just outside the colonial gem of Antigua Guatemala .   Historical colonial cisterns and aqueducts traverse the project and were celebrated in the site planning.  The clients worked closely with archaeologists and preservationists from the town. The lush gardens create outdoor rooms with seating and lounge areas.    Wooden decks and stairs were used around the old aqueduct to add to the mystique and charm.  Project Architect- Juan Pablo Banus

Área de Eventos, Fraijanes

An ‘upcycled’ grain silo is the centerpiece of this events center outside the capital on a ridge overlooking lake Amatitlan and the volcanoes.   A large covered salon sits at the base of the project near the silo featuring panoramic views of the valley below.  Walkways between lush gardens and stairways lead up to the parking area and an organic vegetable garden used for serving home grown vegetables and spices.

Blanc

Blanc is a luxury resort style housing project situated on the beach in the beautiful south coast region of Monterico.  The homes feature spaces opening up to the garden and ocean views.  A pedestrian spline running in the center of the island inside the largest pool in Central America features a miniature golf course, sitting areas, outdoor living rooms, fountains and plazas.  Coconut palms over 25 feet tall were tranplanted around the pool to give shade.  Wooden bridges criss cross the pool and allow connections between the homes , site amenities, and beach.  Project architect Mario Siliezar  Pool - Watermania

La Mar

La mar is an upscale resort in near the beach community of Monterico, famous for its mission of sea turtle conservation. Villas here are grouped in 10-12 unit complexes surrounding a large modern swimming pool. Each complex has its own outdoor seating areas and gardens. The baech front features the club house and includes a large pool with day beds, access to the black sand beach, a restaurant with resident chef, and small shops. Future growth includes an outdoor gym, miniature golf, fire pits, and a large multi-use grass area for soccer, volleyball, and other sports.

Villa Los Cabos

LOS CABOS is a residential resort complex located in Monterico on the south coast of Guatemala.  The project features villas wrapping around a central swimming pool with a natural island and amenities including a white sand beach, a bar, outdoor living areas, and waterslides.   In addition,  there are pool cabanas on the beach side of the pool, and walkways which criss cross the project and connect villas to parking, the beach, and the pool.  Shade was a priority and large coconut palms were transplanted.  Foxtail palms and almendro trees also contribute to the tree canopy which creates a comfortable microclimate in the pool as well as parking area.  Project architect - Juan Pablo Banus
